It’s been 2 years since we haven’t gone for a staycation due to a busy schedule and circumstances. We’ve been into some places before and Caliraya got my attention and immediately booked online. And truly I and my family had a relaxing and well-spent birthday treat again. And I will share my honest review of this place.
Caliraya Ecoville Recreation and Farm Resort are envisioned to be a premier agri-tourism center in Laguna wherein it promotes organic and aquaponic farming, farm-to-table lifestyle, integrated with amenities and activities that support relationship building and quality time with families and friends. Indeed a perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life to get back to nature. One can bask in the cool and windy weather of Caliraya while enjoying Filipino comfort foods that are cooked using naturally cultivated ingredients.
Where is it located? Caliraya Ecoville Recreation and Farm Resort are at Lumban – Caliraya – Cavinti Rd, Cavinti, Laguna. And about 2 and a half to 3-hour drive from Makati. The most popular route is via SLEX, exiting Calamba thru the Bucal By-pass road of Greenfields development, and exiting to Los Banos. From Los Banos, continue to drive-thru Sta Cruz and finally Pagsanjan, before going up the hill of Caliraya.
ABOUT THE ROOM
It can accommodate four pax as it provides 2 Queen Size beds. It has its private toilet and bath with bidet and hot and cold shower. Other amenities are 32-inch flat-screen TV (equipped with TV Plus), air-conditioning, rotating ceiling fan, bedside wall lamps, sliding door that opens to the lake, and outdoor dining for four. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Kasi para sa ating mga travelers cleanliness and comfort were rated the most critical factors in the hotel. I’ll give them 5 stars (yan ang highest ko haha). There was a minor issue sa comfort room pero it was immediately attended to ng staff nila pero malinis and mabango ang rooms. Gumagana ang heater. Funny karamihan ng napupuntahan namin medyo hindi nagana ang heater which is sobrang disappointing lalo na sa mga ayaw maligo sa umaga at malamig.
ABOUT THE FOOD
(Unfortunately, I don’t have the chance to take photos kasi sobrang gutom na nung dinner and busy na kami nung breakfast. When I booked online, breakfast is already included. Masarap ang food, served hot and the price is just right which is good for 2-3 persons per serving.
THE RESORT AND ECOVILLE FARM
If you are looking for a place that will give you a moment of peace, I highly recommend Caliraya Resort because of it’s relaxing scenery that will calm your inner being. Far away from all the noise and smoke.

For those who have senior citizen and PWD companions, it is recommended to book your reservation through telephone call because you may need to find a way of managing room availability across their website, front desk. And also discounts will be applied as well. All booking platforms don’t acknowledge any privilege. You can bring along prepped meals, drinks and any other else. They provide vanity kits for the guests. The TV is cable ready with TV- plus connection. Free use of swimming pool din, they provide towels naman pero I suggest bring your own narin. Perfect bonding place ito for a family who are looking for fun like riding sa horse, kayaking, and fishing.

How I would love to win a vacation with my loving husband who’s been with me (since day 1) through the test of time. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law passed away and after a month, I was hospitalized for 2 weeks and then again after a month for another week. I never thought I will be rushed by an ambulance because I was in critical condition. I had lost my memory temporarily and became unconscious. My husband went to my rescue and took very good care of me all throughout my confinement. I know he didn’t get much sleep and often skip meals just to single-handedly look after me. I’m just so grateful he was with me every single step of the way. I felt how hard it was for him to take a long leave of absence from work since there were deadlines to meet.
Aside from that, I believe my husband whom I consider as my modern day personal hero deserves a special reward for his heart of gold and selflessness. He also got ill after acting like my personal nurse at the hospital. He hasn’t fully recovered yet when suddenly out of the blue we both got chickenpox so we had more bonding time with the kids. He even said jokingly that he’s not aware that there’s a couples’ disease, too. We’ll always be together in sickness and in health and I thank God we were able to overcome everything with the power of prayer.

As a Public school teacher, I badly needed a moment of peace! Really. Sa nabasa kong honest review ng place, parang gusto ko na agad agad magpunta! Pero financially saying, we, I personally cant afford it. From accommodation to foods and all, kaya sana palarin at manalo. Gusto ko naman sana maranasan ang mga ganyan, since nagkaisip kasi ako hindi man lang ako nakaranas ng ganyan hanggang sa nagkaasawa’t nagkaanak na lang. Isa talaga sa mga pangarap ko ang makarating at makaranas ng mga ganito. Sana man lang kahit isang beses sa buhay ko maranasan ko yung mga ganitong bagay, mga kayaking and all, ansaya siguro . Salamat sa mga pagkakataong ganito. Hindi man ako palarin, atleast may mananalo at alam kong gaya ko rin, nangangarap na makaranas ng mga ganitong bagay.
