My children always asked me, Mommy, what’s your cookin’ or baking? Can we help? (yes that’s how they say it) For me they show interests and it is a perfect time for them to take advantage of great learning experience, the ART of baking and cooking.
Baking is one of the things I want my children to learn, because for me it brings happiness and the feeling of fulfillment it gives once you see your creation, even if you’re not a pro, like me. π Thankful to +Mommy Bloggers Philippines and Maya Kitchen for coming up such a fun and informative baking workshop.
The very first baking workshop we have attended last Saturday, Yuriboy was so excited and he’s looking forward to learn that day. I guess these photos I’ll be sharing can explain:

Sharing you the recipe for Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip cupcakes
For the Cupcakes:
1 1/2 cups of MAYA Cake Flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
2/3 cup peanut butter (any brand will do)
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Chocolate Buttercream:
1/2 cup butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup milk
3 tbsp. whipping cream
Prepare the cupcakes:
Preheat oven to 350 Farenheit/177 Celsius. Line two 3 oz. 12 hole muffin pan with cupcake liners. Set aside.
In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In another bowl, cream butter, peanut butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Alternately, add dry ingredients and milk, ending with dry mixture and beating well after each addition. Pour batter into prepared pans until 3/4 full. Bake for 25 minuted or until done. Cool completely before frosting.
Prepare chocolate buttercream:
Using a mixer, beat the butter until light and fluffy, Gradually add sugar and cocoa powder at low speed. Add milk and beat at medium beat . Lastly, add the whipping cream and beat until light and fluffy. Pipe or spread on top of cool cupcakes. Makes 14-15 cupcakes.
